"Senior Cut Day"

"Senior Cut Day"
Posted on 05/11/2018

This is a reminder to seniors and parents that Hillsborough High School does not sanction what is commonly referred to as "Senior Cut Day," an unofficial tradition that occurs on the Monday after the senior prom.  Any student who is absent will be marked as absent, and the absence will be counted toward loss of credit in courses.  Considering how close we are to graduation, students and parents are urged to carefully review class attendance (not daily homeroom attendance) in Genesis before making any decision about missing school the Monday after the senior prom.  The Attendance Appeals Committee does not look kindly upon students who opted to miss school on this day if they are at risk of losing credit in any of their classes.

Please review class attendance in Genesis now before deciding about the Monday after the prom.  Losing credit in one or more classes at this point may mean the difference between graduating and not graduating.

Better yet, keep it simple and just be in school.  Then there is nothing to worry about at all!
