FRESHMAN TRANSITION PEER MENTORS Michaela Caminiti Nicole Rokoszak Eric Maitland Danielle Santoro Sophomore applications for interviews are due each March/April for the following school year.Junior and senior students mentor groups of freshmen throughout the first year of high school to assist with the transition to high school, as well as to discuss how to face many of the challeges and pressures freshmen may encounter in proactive and productive ways. Sophmores may apply for admission in the Spring for membership the following year.

Club members participate in a variety of activities including community outreach and assisting high school teachers with classroom projects. Guest speakers and visits to other schools, classrooms, and colleges are planned so members may learn more about the field of education.

PUSH Prevention Using Student HelpRebecca Balaguer (SAC office)Meetings are held in the Auditorium mornings. Students who pledge to be tobacco, alcohol & drug free may join. Members act as positive role models as they teach middle school students the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure.

RED CROSS CLUBMargaret HintzEvery other Wednesday after school in 717This is the high school version of the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provide relief to victirms of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

STUDENT DIVERSITY INITIATIVE (COTIC)Julianne AndersonFriday HHS Library from 2:30-3:30The Student Diversity Initiative is a student-run club at HHS that strives to promote unbiased discussion, thorough education, and widespread awareness of diversity issues in order to make lasting changes in our school and community. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate community conversations at every level to shift perspectives and to challenge prejudice within our community.

It provides an opportunity to collaborate with UNICEF and each other in order to advocate and fundrasie to support this organizations lifesaving work with children from over 190 countries and territories.
